Creating security policy settings for Domino Web Access users

To create or enforce security settings for IBM® Lotus® Domino® Web Access users, you must create a Security Policy Settings document. Although there are other security policy settings that can be created for IBM Lotus Notes® users, the settings here are applicable to Domino Web Access security, and the explanations in the table below describe how these settings affect Domino Web Access users.
For a full explanation about using policies, and the relationship between Policy documents and policy settings documents, see the "User and Server Configuration - Policies" section of this help.
  1. Make sure that you have Editor access to the Domino Directory and one of these roles:
    • PolicyCreator role to create a settings document
    • PolicyModifier role to modify a settings document
  2. From the Domino Administrator, select the People & Groups tab, and then open the Settings view.
  3. Click "Add Settings," and then choose "Security."
  4. On the tabs listed in the table below, complete these fields:

    		 Description
    Allow users to change Internet password over HTTP
    		 This setting determines whether the Domino Web Access user preference "Change Internet Password" displays:
    • Yes (default) - allows users to use a Web browser to change their Internet passwords. Domino Web Access users use the "Change Internet Password" preference to do so.
    • No - the user preference "Change Internet Password" will not display.
    Update Internet Password When Notes Client Password Changes
    		 For Domino Web Access users, this setting determines whether there will be one user preference "Change Password," instead of two preferences, "Change Notes ID" and "Change Internet Password." If there is only one preference, then the Notes ID password in their mail file is updated when the Internet password is changed.
    Choose one:
    • No (default) -- User preferences include both "Change Notes ID" and "Change Internet Password" user preferences, and the user must change both.
    • Yes -- Synchronizes the user Internet password with the Notes client password. User preferences include only the "Change Password" preference, which is used to change both passwords.
    Enforce password expiration
    		 If you enable password expiration for any of the options, the security settings document defaults change. Choose one:
    • Disabled (default) - disables password expiration. If you disable password expiration, do not complete the remaining fields in this section.
    • Notes only - enables password expiration for Notes passwords only. For Domino Web Access users, this enables expiration for the Notes ID stored in the user's mail file.
    • Internet only - enables password expiration for Internet passwords only.
    • Notes and Internet -- enables password expiration for both Notes and Internet passwords. For Domino Web Access users, it enables expiration for both the Notes ID stored in the user's mail file and for the Internet password.
    Note Internet password expiration settings are recognized only by the HTTP protocol. This means that Internet passwords can be used with other Internet protocols (such as LDAP or POP3) indefinitely.
    Caution Do not enable password expiration if users use Smartcards to log in to Domino servers.
    Required password quality
    		 If you require users to create passwords based on password quality, specify that quality by choosing a value from the drop-down list. To use length instead of password quality, continue to the next field.
    For Domino Web Access users, password quality settings are enforced when the Notes ID is stored in the user's mail file and the password is changed via Domino Web Access user preferences.
    Use length instead
    		 If you require users to create passwords based on length, click Yes. When you do, the "Required Password Quality" field changes to "Required password length." Specify the minimum password length here.
    For Domino Web Access users, password quality settings are enforced when the Notes ID is stored in the user's mail file and the password is changed via Domino Web Access user preferences.
    Custom Password Policy tab
    Change Password on First Notes Client Use
    		 Require users to change their passwords the first time they log in using Notes. For Domino Web Access, users must change the embedded Notes ID password before using it the first time.
    Note This works only if the policy is applied during user registration.
    Keys and Certificates tab
    Specify the number of days prior to certificate expiration at which the user Warning period receives an expiration warning message.

Ở đây TX limit ( 600Kbps ) chính là giới hạn băng thông upload

Cảnh báo lỗi bảo mật trong phần mềm Lotus

Ba lổ hổng trong phần mềm Lotus Domino và Notes 6.0 của IBM có thể cho phép tin tặc thực thi các đoạn mã nguy hiểm trên máy tính của người dùng. Vấn đề này được công ty bảo mật Next Generation (Anh) đánh giá ở mức nghiêm trọng.


Nhược điểm thứ nhất rất nguy hiểm nằm trong phần mềm nhắn tin Lotus iNotes. Hacker có thể chiếm quyền điều khiển máy chủ Domino qua việc gửi yêu cầu có chuỗi ký tự dài cho các dịch vụ dựa trên web và gây tràn bộ đệm.
Lỗi tràn bộ nhớ xảy ra khi có quá nhiều dữ liệu được gửi đến bộ nhớ trung gian trong máy tính. Khi bộ nhớ bị tràn, hacker có thể chèn các đoạn mã để thực hiện theo ý mình.
Lỗi thứ hai cũng được đánh giá ở mức nghiêm trọng. Nó ảnh hưởng tới phần mềm máy chủ ứng dụng Lotus Domino 6. Hacker có thể gây tràn bộ nhớ bằng cách gửi một yêu cầu đặc biệt để có thể thực thi các đoạn mã nguy hiểm và chiếm quyền điều khiển máy chủ.
Lỗi thứ ba nằm trong một ActiveX client control được sử dụng trên phần mềm iNotes. Khiếm khuyết được đánh giá ở mức trung bình. Hacker có thể chạy các đoạn mã trên một hệ thống từ xa đang cố gắng sử dụng các tính năng nhắn tin dựa trên web iNotes.
Theo Next Generation, một tin tặc có thể dùng một e-mail hoặc trang web để gửi những chuỗi ký tự dài đến Active X control, gây tràn bộ đệm trên các hệ thống mục tiêu cho phép hacker chạy những đoạn mã qua việc sử dụng các quyền cao nhất của người dùng.

IBM va hai loi bao mat Lotus IBM vừa mới phát hành bản cập nhật để khắc phục hai lỗi bảo mật đã được phát hiện từ ... năm ngoái trong dòng sản phẩm Lotus Domino.




Tháng 8 năm ngoái hãng bảo mật iDefense thông báo phát hiện một lỗi bảo mật XSS (cross-site scripting) tồn tại trong giao diện phối hợp và gửi nhận tin nhắn trên web IBM Lotus Domino Web Access dành cho máy chủ Lotus Domino. "Nguyên nhân phát sinh lỗi bảo mật này là do lỗi trong quá trình lọc nội dung các email HTML. Cho dù Web Access cố gắng lọc HTML và mã script nhưng một số đoạn mã vẫn lọt qua và điều khiển thực thi JavaScript," iDefense cho biết. Để khắc phục lỗi bảo mật này IBM khuyến cáo người dùng nên nâng cấp lên Lotus Domino 6.5.6 và 7.0.2 Fix Pack 1. Lỗi bảo mật thứ hai là một lỗi tràn bộ nhớ đệm trong phần mềm IBM Lotus Domino Server đảm trách nhiệm vụ gửi tin nhắn và lập lịch trình. Nếu tin tặc khai thác thành công lỗi này chúng có thể tấn công từ chối dịch vụ hoặc thực thi mã độc trên hệ thống mắc lỗi. Lỗi này được iDefense phát hiện và thông báo hồi tháng 10 năm ngoái. Nếu khai thác thành công lỗi bảo mật này tin tặc có thể đoạt được quyền truy cập đến một số thông tin nhạy cảm trên hệ thống hoặc hạ gục máy chủ. Nhưng để khai thác được lỗi bảo mật này tin tặc phải có quyền kết nối đến dịch vụ LDAP, iDefense khẳng định.

How to Customize iNotes Login Screen (Lotus Web Mail - Login Page)

Today, I'm going to post how to insert company logo and company stamp/name picture on lotus iNotes (Lotus notes WebMail) login page.
Before you begin you must enable the web mail in the Primary Domino Server (or a Fresh Domino Server for WebMail only) . Once you have done that in the domino server, you will see two nsf files :
(Filename can be different as per your choice)

1. iNotes.nsf  (See below screen-shot)

















2. domcfg.nsf (See below screen-shot)

















When you launch the IE or Firefox on http://dominohub.test.net , initially you'll see below screen. This is the one we are going to replace with our company logo & name.



Steps to Do :

Step-1: (Start Domino Designer Client with Proper Credentials)
